INKspired Blog Hop 46

Hello and welcome to our INKspired blog hop. We really love that you have come to see what we have created for you this week.

If you have hopped here from  Nicole's blog, you're in the right spot! Just remember to keep on hopping until you have seen all the projects we have made to show you. You won't want to miss any of them.

Here is the sketch that Teneale has given us to work with  ...

I have created two cards for this sketch, yes, TWO! This week has been kinda crazy, with Christmas shopping and Christmas party planning, however, the birthdays keep coming and people keep doing things that deserve recognition, so I needed a birthday card and a congratulations card ... on top of making lots of Christmas cards for family and friends.

This card is for my beautiful boy Matthew who turns 13 this week. I'll soon have two teenage boys in the house - heaven help me! The food bill keeps increasing, as must my patience. No, really, Mattie is such a happy kid most of the time, he's a really sweetie and is so creative. The only thing is his creating tend to be sooooooo messy!!!!

Mattie, you're such a blessing in our lives and I hope this bright and fun card will make you smile even brighter. Happy Birthday Matthew xx

This birthday card uses the Balloon bouquet punch, the Balloon framelits and the Celebrate Today stamp set. I have also used the Festive Birthday DSP and Brights Enamel Shapes to jazz it up.

My second card uses the stunning Moroccan DSP paired with a sentiment from the Guy Greeting stamp set. I love the way the way the papers from this Moroccan DSP are suited for use in masculine cards, or for those who love something a little exotic.

I hope you like my cards and if you have a spare minute, you'll let me know which is your favourite. I always love to read your comments.

My lovely and talented friend Lisa is next stop in the hop. Let's go and check out her awesome card.

Thanks so much for hopping by. See you next time :)

INKsoired Blog Hop #45

Hi there! I'm so happy that you could join us for our fortnightly INKspired Blog Hop.

I hope you've had a wonderful weekend with family and friends - or maybe time alone with your crafting supplies is what you've been hanging for ;)

If you have hopped here from  Nicole's blog, you're in the right spot! Just remember to keep on hopping until you seen all the projects we have made to show you. You won't want to miss any of them.

Here is this week's sketch ...

As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew that I wanted to heat emboss the flower motif stamp from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set over two different coloured pieces of cardstock. I've been using this stamp set a lot lately, I think it's my absolute fave out of the current Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.

The tricky part was deciding on a colour scheme, but I couldn't resist the temptation to use my fave SU colour with my fave SU stamp set! So ... out came my beloved Bermuda Bay and I paired it here with Dapper Denim, a hint of Pool Party and a spattering of silver embellishments to give my card a little extra sparkle.

The Thank You sentiment is also form the Flourishing Phrases stamp set - I really love the elegant font. After attaching the banner with the sentiment, I thought the card needed a little something more.

As my Papillion Potpourri stamp set hadn't had a showing in a very LONG time, I dusted it off and stamped out the larger butterfly in Bermuda Bay and the smaller one in Pool Party. I had forgotten how sweet these little butterfly stamps are and how well they layer together.

I hope you like my card and that I've given you some ideas you can use in your craft room.

My beautiful friend Marlene is next in the hop. Let's hop over and see what she has created for us.

Thanks so much for hopping by.

INKspired Blog Hop #44

Hi and thanks for joining us in for our 44th INKspired Blog Hop. I hope you've had a lovely weekend and managed to squeeze in some craft time.

If you have hopped here from seeing Nicole's amazing card, you're in the right spot!

Here is this week's sketch ...

My first card features the Merry Medley background stamp that I stamped in Read Red onto Whisper White card stock. I then used Real Red and Cucumber Crush card stocks for the base of my card. I isolated a section of the Merry Medley stamp for the sentiment inside the Layering Circles framelits. The sweet little holly and berry stamps are from the Hang Your Stocking stamp set. Add a little silver ribbon for a bit of bling and Santa's your sweetheart.

I also needed a birthday card for a friend and thought this sketch would work wonderfully with the Number of Years stamp set. I was delighted with how simple it was to create this card using the floral stamps and sentiment in the set. The colour scheme in this card is Dapper Denim, So Saffron and Mint Macaron. I am so in love with all of the striped ribbons in the 2015-2016 In Colours, and this one in Mint Macaron is really lovely.

Marvellous Marlene is next in the hop. Let's go see what she has created for us today.

Thanks for hopping by,  I hope to see you again next time.

INKspired Blog Hop #43

Welcome to or 43rd INKspired Blog Hop. I hope you've had a wonderful weekend filled with fun, family and friendship.

You may have hopped here from seeing Nicole's amazing card. If that's the case - you're in the right spot and thanks for hopping on to me.

Here is this week's sketch ... a nice, easy one to use.

This week, I've decided to use the KISS principle. I love intricate cards with lots of beautiful detail and textures, but I don't often have time to create them, so here is a clean and simple card that was really quick and easy to make.

The card base is Sweet Sugarplum and the banner is Emerald Envy. The DSP I have selected as the background is from the Playful Palette DSP Stack. This DSP wasn't on my radar at first, but every time I use it, I end up loving the result. The stamp set is Marquee Messages, which I've found to be great for teen cards that pop.

Next in the hop is the lovely and super talented Lisa ... I can't wait to see what she has created for us.

Thanks for hopping by,  I hope to see you again next time.

Global Design Project - Blushing Angel - GDP057

I've been looking forward to playing with my Wonder of Christmas stamp set, however I was in need of a little inspiration. When I saw this week's GDP colour challenge, I found it! Here are the colours we had to incorporate into our project:

Rich Razzleberry has always been in my top two fave colours (my other fave is Bermuda Bay) and while Mint Macaron is gorgeous, it obviously not as vibrant as Bermuda bay, but perfect for the darling little angel in the Wonder of Christmas stamp set.

I decided to stamp the angel onto Blushing Bride floral paper from the Subtles Collection DSP Stack and fussy cut out her dress. I then glued this onto a second angel stamped onto Shimmery White card and watercoloured using a blender pen. A little Wink of Stella on her wings and she was radiant!

I adore the Mint Macaron striped ribbon under the little sentiment at the bottom of the card and I think the shimmery colours in the ribbon work beautifully with the Wink of Stella on her wings.

Thanks for taking the time to get a closer look at my project. I hope to see you here again soon.

World Card Making Day Blog Hop Using Stampin' Up! Products

Hello and welcome to our World Card Making Day Blog Hop showcasing current Stampin' Up!® products.

I'm so excited to be participating in this event!  This hop is such a fantastic way to celebrate World Card Making Day and I can't wait to see what everyone has created.

You are currently visiting Lissa Carter in Australia and from here you will be hopping to many other places around the world. There is a list at the end of the page which will help you to move along from blog to blog so you see 20 amazing projects all up.

Here in Sydney, where I live, spring has sprung! It's really warming up and my garden has begun to bloom. I've got my summer vegetable seedlings planted and they're getting bigger every day. All this has my spirits soaring, so I thought I'd create a Spring-themed card for you.

I've chosen Stampin' Up!'s Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP as the background for my card. This DSP is so beautiful and makes creating stunning cards so simple.  The flower stamp and sentiment are from the Crazy About You stamp set. This stamp set comes with so many different words that you can mix and match to make interesting phrases to suit.  The leaves featured in this card are from the Flourish Thinlits - the yellow sprigs in my second card below uses another thinlit from this set. The flower colours are Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo and I've added White Perfect Accents to centre of each flower for extra dimension, but it's a bit difficult to tell from the photo.

Below is another card using a different paper from the same Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP.  This card features the fabulous flower from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and a super sentiment from the Flower Patch stamp set. The colour scheme I've selected for this card is Cucumber Crush, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake and Whisper White. The white text and leaf motif has been embossed using white embossing powder.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. Remember that currently you are at my blog - Lissa Carter - so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next in line and have fun hopping your way around. There are so many amazing ideas and inspiration that I know you won't want to miss.

Have a fabulous day!

INKspired Blog Hop 41

Hello and welcome to INKspired Blog Hop #41. I hope you've had a super special weekend!
If you've hopped here from Teneale's blog - you're in the right spot and thanks for hopping to me.

Here is this week's sketch ...

Spring has certainly sprung as with it comes a multitude of September birthdays, so I decided to make a birthday card for my friend, Sharon. I think the card sings Spring and I hope Sharon loves it.

This card features a few products that I "had to have" yet hadn't got around to using yet.  You know how it is, right?

The Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP is stunning with copper foil highlights and pairs perfectly with the Stampin' Emboss Powder in Copper. The Mini Striped Ribbon in Delightful Dijon works well with the copper hue. Stampin' Up! also recently released Copper foil sheets in the Holiday catalog, but I haven't got any yet, so I went with a little strip of Gold Glimmer Paper instead.

Next in the hop is the awesome Allison with a amazing card for us to see.

Thanks for hopping by,  I hope to see you again next time.

INKspired Blog Hop #39

Hello and welcome to the INKspired Blog Hop #39. I hope you've had a wonderful weekend!
If you've hopped here from Teneale's blog - you're in the right spot and thanks for hopping on.

Here is this week's sketch ...

Because Father's Day is just around the corner, I thought I'd create a card for my amazing Dad.      My Dad loves to create things, too, however his preferred materials are metal, wood and cement!

Here we are down at his farm in Jervis Bay making a woodfired pizza oven to go in the gazebo he built.  It was such a fun thing thing to do as a family and now we get to enjoy the bounty of our efforts every time we go there. Absolutely the best pizzas you'll ever eat!

Here's the Father's Day card I made for my Dad. It's a quick and easy card to make. The colour scheme is Dapper Denim, Mint Macaron and Whisper White. The sentiment and hat images are from the Guy Greeting stamp set and the patterned paper is Moroccan DSP. I have used Burlap ribbon behind the sentiment, as it's quite a manly ribbon, don't you agree? The ribbon you can use you can't use ribbon Lol :)

Next in the hop is the totally talented Renee with a gorgeous card for us to see.

Thanks for hopping by,  I hope to see you again next time.

INKspired Blog Hop #37 - Flourishing Phrases

Welcome to the INKspired Blog Hop #38, I'm so glad to see you here! There's always some great ideas and wonderful cards to be inspired by, such as Teneale's.  If you've hopped here from her blog - you're in the right spot.

Here is this week's sketch ...

I really wanted to use the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and matching Flourish Thinlits Dies in my project this week. They've been on the top of my wish-list since the release of the new cattie and I've only recently gotten my hands on them.  I just adore all the intricate detail in this bundle and I'm a sucker for floral motifs.

So here's the first card I made ... the colour scheme is Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum and Pink Pirourette.

I asked my hubby what he thought of my card (always a mistake!) and his opinion was that I had strayed too far from the brief. So, despite not sharing his opinion, I decided to make a second offering that features different elements from the same bundle.

The colour combo in this card is Wild Wasabi, Flirty Flamingo and Smoky Slate.

I was really happy with the first card, but I think the second is now my fave.
Which is your favourite? Love you to let me know.

Next in the hop is the totally talented Renee with a really fun card.

Thanks for hopping by,  I hope to see you again soon.

INKspired Blog Hop #37

Howdy blog hoppers and big welcome back to the INKspired Blog Hop; it's wonderful to have you stop by.  It's fantastic to be part of this wonderful hop again. We've all had a few months break, but now it's time to get the creative juices flowing again and I've got to say it feels great :)

If you have hopped here from Teneale, you're in the right spot. Teneale always creates a project that inspires me to produce a card to be proud of and  to strive to make a project that is beautiful, as hers always are. Actually, as I'm sure you'll agree, all the INKspired artists are amazing!

Here is the sketch we were working with ...

I have made a birthday card for my nephew Zander who turns 5 next week. Zander is such a whirlwind of energy and always has such a big smile and cheeky twinkle in his eye. Happy birthday gorgeous boy - I hope you love your card.

I was so excited to use my Number of Years stamp set for the very first time; it's been calling to me to use it and I have finally found both the time and need for it. Yah!

I have paired Dapper Denim and the super sweet colour scheme of A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack. I think they pair beautifully, don'y you?

Now, lets go see what the awesome and lovely Lisa has created ...

Thanks for stopping by.

I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

INKspired Blog Hop #23 - Flowering Fields

Hi blog hoppers! Welcome to the INKspired Blog Hop #33.  It's wonderful to have you stop by.

If you have arrived here after admiring Teneale's stellar card ... thanks for hopping all the way around to me.

The sketch for this hop is a great layout and one that is easy to work with;  one I think I'll come back to again and again.

Sadly, this card is for my beautiful Mother-in-law, Anne, who has this week tragically suffered the sudden loss of her dear husband of 50 years, Bob.

Bob was a truly extraordinary man; a loving husband and father, a man of principle and good humour. Bob was a truth-seeker, a rational thinker and an impeccable scientist.  He dedicated the last decade of his life to studying climate change and to communicating to the public and Australian and international governments and agencies alike, the facts surrounding human-caused global warming. He was among the most influential and persuasive of the scientists around the world attempting to inject reason into the climate change debate.

Bob was an outstanding science communicator in possession of the rare skill of being able to clearly articulate complex science topics in terms that were able to be understood by untrained scientists.  As a science teacher myself, he was an invaluable mentor to me. Bob, you are keenly missed by your family, friends and colleagues. RIP.

In these situations, there is little one can say to provide comfort, but I hope that, in some small way, this card brings a little brightness to Anne's day.

When making sympathy cards, I find myself rifling through stamp sets in futile search of the perfect sentiment, alas, none ever seem adequate ... hence the absence of a sentiment on my card.   There are no words to express my sadness ... simply love poured into a card in the hope of brightening a loved one's day.  As we all well know, that's exactly what makes hand-made cards so very special.

To make this card, I used the Flowering Fields stamp set, which is available for free in Stampin' Up!s Sale-a-bration promotion. I really adore this stamp set. So soft, a little dreamy and perfect for water-colouring or use with our blender pens, as I have done in this card. I stamped the images using Crumb Cake ink then coloured the images with Pear Pizzazz, Calaypso Coral, and added a smidge of So Saffron too.  I love the way the botanical motif on the DSP from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack mimics the centre stamp, and pleasingly, this made easy work of selecting a colour scheme for my card.

Now, lets go see the marvellous card Marlene has created for us ...

Thanks for stopping by.

I hope you have a wonderful day.
